(Why) would a straight guy always stare at a particular good looking guy?

My crush stares at me and also at a male friend in college (we don't hang out together on campus so he doens't know that we know each other). I know that he had a crush on me but he always says that he is straight. Why does he stare at my guy friend then?

I couldn't possibly begin to know without knowing the three of you, but I usually just like to imagine "what would I do?" when it comes to the guy's behavior questions.

Firstly, I hate eye contact. Or, at least, it makes me uncomfortable. It's much worse when I have a crush on someone-- I will do my best not to look at them and to limit interactions with them as much as I can, simply not to get on her nerves.

I'm not saying he's going to be the exact same as me, but if I'm going way out of the way to not look at you, it just means I'm embarrassed and would rather not mess up somehow.

I had to re-read the question, I think I missed something.

He stares like a psycho?
Like what kind of stare, does it seem like an unhappy stare?

He might genuinely be straight, but maybe he's jealous, or thinks you and your friend are an item already. That's just another possibility.

In some cases, I've noticed men will stare at someone when they're angry at them.

Challenge him to a staring contest since he's so good at it.

Maybe he'll take the hint. If you wish to increase the difficulty, make the rule you gotta be two feet apart.

You might need to just end up being blunt. "You tend to stare a lot. Did I do something wrong?"
Or something along those lines.
