The company I work for is having its building remodeled. The field manager for the company that is doing the remodeling has been in the building for about the last 4 months. We saw each other here and there, but since started chatting. He passes by my office more than he needs to, which I like and our conversations have become more personal. But it hasn't gone beyond that, which is fine for now. I like not following each other on social media, not texting or calling. It's like an exciting high of just enough flirting to be fun. However, I sent him a few emails asking about the building project, first REAL questions then a silly one. Which he thought was funny and responded comically. But I sent another silly one with no response. I'm worried since we really don't know each other he doesn't get my humor and it's one too many. I will see him around the building for a while and don't want things to get weird. I want the playful, flirty, silly banter. I'm afraid I've already ruined that. How do I back it up so HE emails me or HE stops in to talk to me? I can't email HIM again that's why got me where I am, feeling that I went too far.

Well, I was seriously asking him about updates to the building and he started teasing me, in a fun playful way, that I would like to get back to... and he came in and joked about how he didn't get any emails from me yet that day with questions... so I made one up just to email him. I asked him if the windows would be single or double-pane. I don't care and it's stupid, but I thought he would find it funny. Which he did because as I was walking out that evening he called my name and made a joke about windows. So as you can see, I thought it was a thing... so I had to email him about something serious and joked that I wouldn't "bother" him, he laughed and said you can email me whenever you want... so without missing a beat, I did, another joke question... but no response. So of course my anxiety says, WHY did you email him 30 seconds after he said that... you should have waited and had him wonder if you would. But I didn't so now I feel like I pushed it.
