Or are there any good reasons why a guy might not pay for the first date?
1.6K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. No -- that's like asking if there's a legitimate reason to jump off a ten story building; it just doesn't seem plausible, not to mention that it would defeat the entire purpose of the date to begin with. Call me old fashioned or a simp, etc, but irregardless of any sexual possibilities, which are essentially nonexistent anyway, I'm going to maintain my concentration and continue fulfill my destiny, which is to serve women unendingly. Is that strange? Maybe, but it's been very meaningful for me.

Forget him if he won't , but be cautious of " big note " wankers also.

Situation 1: You and I have been talking for a while, months. I know you already, you know me. We start to get romantically interested and date. I'll pay. Because I know you already and since we are only now starting to date, means I liked you enough to step it up from friendship to dating. I'll pay for dinner. Because I like you, appreciate you so I'd like to treat you.
Situation 2: We just met, we matched. Will I pay? 50-50 chance. I feel it out. But I lean towards no. Because I don't know you at that point. I don't know how good of a person you are, how bad of a person you are. Your intentions, I don't know them. Do I need to pay for her meal to get to know a person I'm attracted to? No. You only need her time. And you give them your time to allow them to get to know you. I don't need to spend money for a talk.
She is not entitled to a free meal. That is a luxury, not a privilege.

+1 yI have been out of the game for a while but if I were to go on a first date with a woman her actions would dictate how I would handle the bill:
- If the date went well, I would want to see her again, and I believed she also wanted to see me then I would pay the whole bill.
- If the date was lame or I didn't think I would want to see her again or think she would want to see me then I will split the check.
- If I get the impression that she was trying to use me for a free meal (foodie call), was on her phone the whole time, or did something egregious like ordering 4 dozen oysters then I am ditching her with the entire bill.

If I asked you out I would definitely be paying…. Unless you asked to pay for your own. I would offer but would let you pay for yours as to not offend you.
10 Replyeven if there was a godess infront of me i wouldn't pay for the meal, has nothing to do with my excitement level, it is all about self-respect, i'm not anyone's wallet and my dick is certainly not a credit card.

+1 yAfter my divorce, I had several first dates, almost always dinner. I usually paid, but a few of the women insisted on paying for their own meal, and one insisted on paying for mine too.

+1 yIf he's a foreigner he probably won't. I mean an actual foreigner. In most parts of the world the expectation is NOT that the man pays for the date.
10 Reply Not a problem, if a girl can't afford to pay the full price she shouldn't force a guy who can't afford either, just split it

3.1K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. If he is a poor college student it is okay but if he is in his twenties and working full time and won't pay for dinner her is a cheapskate..
20 ReplyNot necessarily. He could be a cheap, no class, desperate piece of shit. If a woman has given you the honor of going to dinner with you then be a gentleman and pay!

+1 yi think there have to be more reasons than this singular one. i mean your reason is A reason but not the sole reason. perhaps they want to see if a woman will pay. perhaps they are short on funds (though you question why they are dating).

If you base their excitement on how they cover the bill, do us all a favour and don't date.20 Reply - 1.8K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic.
+1 yOn a first meet up, and often the second, I do something simple in order to see if she is interested in me or just in free meals. Once we get past that I will take her to a nice place, as the meal is clearly not her primary interest.

+1 yMaybe they decided to go Dutch, maybe the girl decided she wanted to pay, maybe he was skint, maybe he lost his wallet on the way there or just forgot to load it into his pockets.
00 Reply I am not paying for a girl on a first date. Her not arguing about that tells me everything I need to know.

+1 yI think a lot of women prefer to go Dutch on the first date according to one of the questions on here. I always insisted that I pay for both meals when I took a woman out regardless of what date number it was.
00 Reply On a first date, whether the other person is willing to pay for the meal or not depends on the person.
10 Reply448 opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. No. A guy being excited about a gal doesn't necessarily mean that he considers her or himself relationship material.
Also if she asked for a date then him paying all would be her inviting herself out.
00 Reply33.3K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. Lol, it has nothing to do with how excited he is about his date. It means he is a cheapskate.
03 ReplyI'm pretty sure it just means she was the one who asked him out.

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yI mean is there a reason he should pay for the date. He could very much enjoy the date and wish to split the cost as well that is a very fair and reasonable option.
