Why do men have less awareness when it comes to first date locations?

When men suggest a first date it’ll literally be at their/your house like you’re not both strangers. Don’t you have regard for your safety and do you not realise that the girl might have safety concerns lol

You're most likely dealing with one of the following 3 issues:

1. The guy has limited means (i. e., not much money), and so he can't afford to spend much money on a date, so he's suggesting something he can afford (this is typically true of younger guys).

2. He's learned that different women have VERY different and often conflicting ideas of what is acceptable for a first date, to the point where he feels like it's easier to avoid the whole thing by suggesting whatever is easiest for him. In this situation, he's often open to other options, but only if the girl makes suggestions in a nice way, rather than demands to be taken somewhere else in a rude way.

3. He simply doesn't take the girl or the relationship very seriously, and so he's not going to put in much if any effort.

You need to spend a bit of time with the guy and pay attention to his attitude and behavior, and you should be able to quickly figure out which one of these is likely to apply to him.

Why do women force men to always be the ones to approach and ask out women and then they complain about his choices? Can you say entitlement?

I haven't seen that at all. I think the men who want to date you just don't care enough to put much effort in.

Guys aren't worried about safety in the same ways as women. A lot of people can only think from their own perspective.

I've never thought about inviting a girl to my place for a first date lol didn't know this was common thing.
