I recommended him a song before and he did listen to it so I’m kind of confused on why he lied to me this time? We haven’t spoken in a month and a half before all of this and he would just look at me and turn his head away every time he saw me in the halls?

Hmm that's weird, don't know what his deal is. A few reasons he mighta lied:

- He's not that into you so didn't wanna put in the effort to listen, but didn't wanna be rude and just say no. Guys can be chicken sometimes.

- He's playing games or messing with you cuz he likes the attention. Getting you wondering keeps him somewhat involved without committing.

- He's embarrassed that he didn't actually listen and got caught in a lie. Didn't wanna admit he blew it off.

- He's just awkward and didn't know how to say he forgot or got busy without listening yet. Lying was an easy out.

- Could be he's into you but unsure how you feel, so he's shy and avoids you in person. Lying online is safer.

Who knows, girls always make things so complicated! I'd say just call him out nice and say you know he didn't listen cuz you can tell. See what he says then. Or maybe just move on if he's gonna play games, not worth the stress.

well I’m afraid too I feel like I’m annoying him and he looks a bit sad, plus we’re not close and I only ever talk too him during passing period like once or twice every month ( I’m really shy and sometimes he’s really busy)

Yes, I understand I struggle with anxiety and I tend to overthink everything, so it’s really hard not to over analyze everything but I’m trying my best to stop.

I understand that's how girls are wired but when you start overthinking ask yourself "does this really matter" and be honest with yourself and think logically. I've learned to empathasize more and think from an emotional side. It's not easy and counterintuitive to how a guy thinks but it's paid off in understanding a woman's side.
