How to respond to “my life is in shambles”?

A few days ago (Friday evening), I was texting a guy I’ve been seeing for a while, during a convo, he texted “oh do you have a crush on me?” And I responded “maybe a little what gave it away”. He didn’t respond at all. Friday night I understand, he had a work holiday party, but no response. I was upset and text drunkenly on Saturday night “crush rescinded”. He responded to me today saying “sorry my life is in shambles”. How do I respond? I want to respond nicely (good karma) and I also want to know what is going on, but he’s a bit slow to open up.

Just say, sorry to hear that, just keep taking small steps, and chin up, and its never seems as bad in reality, as in your head. The problem when life goes bad for us, we tend to panic and imagine the worse case scenario, and actually make things worst, instead of keep your head clear, and think of solution to your problems.
