Why is he leaving me on read and responding hours later?

Yes I know this sounds petty but it's really not I'm just always scared of being discarded

He's working a lot and really busy and he always texts me extremely long paragraphs everyday but I'm still scared because recently he's been leaving my messages on read for hours at a time and he responds at night. So it's probably because he's busy I'm guessing but still, why would he open my messages when he knows I too write very in depth stuff knowing he won't have time to respond immediately?

He did tell me though he lives alone now and that it's a lot for him he also has three bands he plays in and two jobs so I understand. I don't mind other than me just being worried all the time
