Why does he leave me on read half the time and reply a lot other times?

One of my guy friends does this thing where half the time I text him he just leaves me on read. Apparently he does this to everyone is at least his other guy friends as far as I'm concerned. Then other times he actually replies to me and I *almost* think things are ok. Then next time I hit him up I get hit with that READ again.

Pretty much but I kinda have a crush on him.

If you are just friends, then he doesn't feel the need to reply. He will reply when he wants to or if he feels it deserves a reply. Its true that men are not great at this type of thing so I wouldn't read too much into it.
