Me and my boyfriend had a fight over me wanting to sew clothing. I want to buy some fabric and he just doesn’t agree, says I can’t do it and it will be a waste of money.
So I got angry and said he does not support what I want, silly thing to fight over but he stays angry for hours on end after arguing. I feel like it never ends and he threatens to leave over shit like that and says “I’m leaving your ass”. I’m over the argument after an hour. I don’t know about guy psychology but doesn’t that just seem silly to sit there and be angry about it for that long? I’m starting to think he’s nasty and it’s turning me off of him and his personality personally?

That sounds horrible. Honestly, it sounds like he's a bit of a narcissist. Not supporting you wanting to do something creative, threatening to leave over an argument... That's really childish of him, and it's disrespectful to you.

You could do so much better, and you deserve better. I was living with an aunt last year who told me I was stupid for writing books, and I was wasting my time. I've written over 200 books and never published anything because of anxiety.

But my point is, it's ignorant for someone to diminish your creative talents. Even if it's something new that you're trying, at least you're doing something with your life.

This guy seriously doesn't deserve your time. If that was him wanting to pursue a new hobby, you would probably be supportive of him.

You should still buy the fabric and do it. The hell with him. This is your decision, and you should be able to do what you want to do without asking permission.

I'm not really sure what you're asking. I'm not really even sure this is question. Seems more like a vent.

First off you can't say "guy psychology" like this is all guys. I don't think I'd argue about something so trivial. I mean I can understand him not wanting you to waste money on fabric and whatnot. Because it's almost always cheaper to buy clothes then to make your own. If it wasn't clothes wouldn't be made in 3rd world sweatshops. But for example, people still knit! Why? Because some enjoy it, some find it therapeutic, Etc. Etc. Not EVERYTHING in life has to make COMPLETE financial sense.

Maybe the scale at which you want to do this is too big. If he has a problem with how much you want to spend then maybe scale it back some and spend less. Treat it as more of a hobby at first. Maybe if your good at it and he sees a finished product he'll be more receptive to it.

Bruh that's the dumbest thing to argue over fr. Like sewing can be such a fun hobby I find it weird that he reacted like that. Unless you guys are strapped for money, in that case you should probably think of ways you can make more money instead of spending it.
Little things add up and some people need a little longer after an argument to calm down, that's not bad per se. But like, threatening to leave over stuff like that is a bit concerning, it's quite toxic ngl
