Long story short, this dude is known for being a player. He told me time and time again that he liked me. The moment I say I like him back he goes along. Then I asked him if he really likes me and he said that not yet because he needs to get to know me. I backed off and he knows why. He messaged me the next day saying good morning. Is he trying to treat me like an option? Does he think he still has a chance to have me on standby?

Yeah, makes sense. That’s why I thanked him for being upfront and not wasting my time. I told him I would take my distance and he said he understood. I don’t plan on talking to him ever again.
