Confronting a guy about his behaviour? A yes or no? Setting my standards right?

A guy I’m due to go and stay with in a month tends to go full on with messages then ignore even when he initiates..

anyway I texted him saying honestly don’t like him ignoring my messages and it’s rude..

he was apologetic - asked to call me to explain said he had been busy with friends and it’s not normal for him.. says he appreciates my honesty etc
So let’s see whet happens …

Interestingly when I read back my messages before I even said what was bothering me ie I don’t like being ignored it’s not kind behaviour - he says ‘oh sorry I’ve been really busy ‘ to my text saying ‘if there is a problem then I certainly don’t need to come to visit you’ .. game playing or looking for a reaction?

Yo girl, good for you for calling that dude out on his flaky messaging behavior! Too many guys think that's an okay way to treat girls, so you totally did the right thing standing up for yourself. Don't let any boy make you feel like you're being "difficult" or something for wanting basic respect and communication.

It's smart that you set that boundary now too before going to stay with him. That way he knows you mean business and won't pull that shit with ignoring you when you're depending on him hosting you. His apology sounded sincere at least, but I'd definitely be watching to see if his actions back that up now. Pay attention to if he actually keeps in touch better or is still spotty with responding.

If he slacks off again, don't be afraid to say something or even cancel your trip altogether. You don't need that stress! But hopefully calling him on it was enough of a wake up call. Keep doing you girl - don't settle for less than you deserve from any dude. You set the standard for how people are allowed to treat you, and it seems like you've got your standards in the right place. You go!
