I work in a male dominated environment with me being the only girl, and I don’t really socialise much with the guys. What would the guys think?

Since 99% are male there with me being the only female, I tend to just stay in my office not socialising much with the guys. I’m usually doing things on my own. What would the guys think? Would they think negative of me?

They do whatever guys do in that situation.

They think that you are asocial but fail to realize that you are actually protecting yourself from possible predators. Yes, some of them are predators because if you start talking to them, they will take it that you are interested in them and they will start howling at the moon like a pack of wolves.

Their levels of testosterone will shoot through the roof and they will do practically anything to get your favors.

Keep your distance as you do till now. That is the best way to keep them away even if they get a wrong opinion about you.

Unless they are assholes or sexists do yourself a favour and socialize. But try not to dress or act like a tramp, be professional in your clothing and manners.

Otherwise even if you were a guy, if you keep to yourself, you ARE going to end up being fired for not contributing to the team environment.

If you isolate yourself, I'd assume that you're not a teamworker.

I feel glad seeing this comment. Cause tbh i’m worried they may think badly about me or think I’m stuck up or not sociable cause I don’t socialise with them. The thing is I don’t know what to talk to them plus I’m shy considering all of them are guys with me being the only girl. But whenever I reached workplace, I will greet good morning or good evening to them. I will only talk to them when required about work related stuffs

you work in a male dominated environment. there's no need to sit there and fester with these thoughts. just ask them how they think and get it out of their system. men don't do the "oh i wonder what my coworker thinks" bullshit. they say what they think. that way you don't have to drag down your work efficiency with nonsensical thoughts that a simple question could resolve.

Nah... they wouldn't. I often do the same, limiting my interactions to only necessary... I've never received any negative feedback. I assume they like it if I act like them - independently and confidently

To begin with, you're not supposed to be there to socialize, but to get your money and go home.

If you don't feel like talking to the dudes there then don't and don't worry what they think as they are going to help you pay your bills.
