Why do people say incel men just aren't trying hard enough if the term basically means nothing will get them laid?

Before I answer, just wanna give a little fun history: the term "incel" was actually invented by a Canadian girl in the mid 1990s who identified as not being able to get laid herself. To this day she intentionally remains anonymous but still speaks from time to time. Ironic, isn't it?

Answer: I don't know if people are actually saying they aren't trying hard enough, but if a guy is considering himself an incel, then his self-perception is going to dictate a lot about how he views his chances, even if he really is not unattractive and even if he does have things going for him. However, women do still call a guy an incel even when he isn't one, and even if he does have a girlfriend/wife, but they call a guy this because he's saying something they don't like but still could be true. They hope to make him angry or hate himself by calling him that.

True. Another thing most women don't think about is that many men who are truly "misogynist" are actually having sex, believe it or not. This should also make women wonder what's wrong with other women who have sex with "misogynist" men.

I don't know that I've ever hear d a woman call a man an incel. This is usually a self applied turn. Some of them are right, it's never going to happen. There are guys with physical problems that are too much to overcome. My experience is that most of the people that whine the loudest, are not those unfortunate guys. The ones doing all the moaning and groaning are usually socially inept guys that have decided they will only accept super model level women, even though they are nowhere near that level of attractiveness themselves. Often you hear "Why should I lower my standards?" Because you're at the Lamborghini dealership with a Ford Focus budget dude. You can either lower your sights or walk. Also, becoming less socially inept requires doing some uncomfortable stuff. Meeting people, talking to them, being rejected, sometimes being rejected a lot, and staying at it. I got discouraged but I did finally succeed. My wife will never be on any magazine covers, but neither will I. Again there are guys that will never get there, but many of the biggest whiners have assigned themselves that role and would rather bitch on the internet that go out and do the uncomfortable things necessary to relieve this status. In the dark ages before the internet, you couldn't find others that where having the same issues to tell you it was all women's fault. Instead you became lonely enough that you went out and tried, and failed, and tried again. Sorry, but nobody owes anyone sex. You might be truly unfuckable, but my experience is , most of the people assigning themselves this label are angry and over-impressed with themselves.

It is thrown around way to much these days, usually by women as an insult when you call out shitty female behaviour. Women will manipulate them by saying do this and that and then you will get laid when they are just trying to use such men and take advantage.

There are almost no actual incels by the concrete definition of "involuntary celibate". When people use that word, they are actually using it to describe a man who wants women who are way out of his league and will settle for nothing less. So when we look at the picture with that second definition in mind, then yes they could theoretically do better if they tried harder.
