Because you present as good for sex bad for relationships. Most men, even players, want a relationship. However almost no girls are acceptable for relationships these days so then we just figure might as well have sex while on our search for actual dateable girls.

I didn't want even really want to admit that I wasn't feminist because women who aren't get looked down upon. If I told my Dad I wanted to be a housewife he'd beat my ass. The entire reason I stopped by this post is cause I knew I was too masculine cause guys didn't treat me as good. Realized about a year ago. Anony, sounds like you live pretty close to me. I’m along the grand strand in SC. I know of Mrs. Midwest. I sort of follow her because I’m interested in discussing femininity as well. I think there are different ways to be a feminine woman. And I think we as women need to take authority on how that can vary. We don’t have to be soft spoken, submissive, with pink ribbons and bows, pretending we think our husbands are the boss. I've had past malicious guys try to put me in that role and I was absolutely miserable. But if a woman wants that lifestyle, then that’s fine. I’m not going tell her to be anything else. But i do want to keep women informed on how to protect themselves against being controlled and manipulated. Let me ask. Do you consider a mans money when you date? If even a slight yes then the effort we put in isn’t equal. I don’t like the word equal. Nothing and none is equal because value is determined by who ever has interest. For instance. Women that expect a man to make 6 figures to date him will value money from him at a 9 in value but for him he definitely don’t care that she makes almost as much hell value her money at a 2... so I’m trading a 9 for your 2. It’s almost not event particularly about women. It’s more about society. A society where it’s dangerous for men to be men and pursue women. There’s various examples within the last few years that show how dangerous. Man arrested for rape when he stopped to change a tire. No proof but still arrested and did time. Students forcibly expelled from college because of unproven rape claims. Quite often, dad has a lot to do with how they turned out. Some men are assholes and don't deserve the girls they always get!! Yes I agree not every man is an asshole. I met some really sweet and kind ones, but they tend to smother us women and that’s what we don’t really need. My ex- would get up in the morning and walk a mile to the library where she'd spend her day reading for her dissertation and I'd stay home doing what I wanted and eventually (because she asked me to) I'd go over to the library and sit with her and do some of my work at a desk beside hers. We didn't bother each other. Most often it was she that'd eventually suggest we leave or go outside and continue our work under a tree or get something to eat, etc.. I knew how important her research was to her and didn't try to take her away from it! Of the three girls I've been with, they all seemed to want to be around me as much as possible! Not smothering, just close to me! And it was THEY that choose ME! I was perfectly happy just being friends with them! Having them for girlfriends was better but, if all I was able to get was a friendship, fine by me!

If you want my honest opinion girls will either play games/drama, automatically say no/reject the dude, feminism frowns on marriage and loving relationships with guys, girls seem way more closed off and in their own world. For many guys such as myself it's not even about being scared, we feel what's the point because in our minds when you deal with constant rejections why bother trying more? Girls/women have to understand this as well. Why is it okay if a girl is cold and distant because past guys broke her heart and ruined her trust in guys but when a guy deals with a decade of rejections girls will automatically say it's 100% his fault and that he's a loser.
I never want to point my finger at a girl and say "well she's a slut that's because guys in her past took advantage and hurt her". What I just said, many stupid girls on GAG respond/reply back at guys who are just as confused/disappointed in women. I've used GAG for years and many girls on GAG seem to be stupid/heartless so now that I am older I take a girl's responses with a grain of salt. I'm a guy who cooks good food, caring, loyal, stays in shape, works hard, has good values and I'm single. Meanwhile, I know guy friends of mine who don't do that stuff but they are with a girl so that's the perplexity of life I have to deal with. Take things slow, read a guy's bod language, is he sincere with his texts, does he ask you how you are doing? Is he open with you by saying although I want sex I will wait until you are ready. Find out what are his morals/ethics, what is his thoughts towards women in general, what does he want to do in life going forward. Some guys won't tell a girl he's planning to move to Australia because he just wants to have fun now before he takes off in a life changing decision. I would never want to purposely break a girls heart even if I had plans to move to the Middle East and didn't tell her while I was dating. It's not fair to her if I string her along and then leave in her the dust by bringing it up last minute. It's not fair to her and maybe there is a guy who desires her much more that she's so-so about but she ended up giving her heart to a dude she's more infatuated with.
For me, because women mindlessly accept the "man should pursue" out of its convenience to their satisfaction, without critical analysis, or, often, effort to understand, where these concepts came from, or their implications in modern society.
Specifically, for me, many woman get hundreds of messages a day on social media, a phenomenon which never occurred in history, as a woman likely could not even meet that many men in a month in the past, when reality was built on physical, or one-to-one (telephone, etc.), interaction.
While I don't require a woman to make all the moves, I generally wait for women to initiate with me, basically give me any sign she's doing something she can't do with 600 other guys at the same time, to know she has a specific, or at least narrowed, interest in me, where approaching her isn't like buying a lottery ticket (i. e. no matter how skilled you are, the simple numbers make odds of winning nearly impossible)
I gave up trying because I saw where it often leads in today's world, where dating sites are like shopping on Amazon (filter by height, weight, etc.), and how empty relationships have grown (i. e. I tell a woman I disabled the texting app on my phone, all she need do is call, and this is enough to result in removal as a contender).
My question to you should be, given all this, why should I try? She's likely already go hundreds of other men lined up on Tinder, Snapchat, Instagram, who are "trying" - largely only in her favor, resulting in a waste of time, effort, etc. for 99.9% of men who try.

I don't text, disabled the app on my phone, because I want to know I'm the focus of her attention while she's dealing with me, and I give the same in return (i've seen girls' online accounts getting 100+ messages per day), many choose not to talk to me after finding out I expect to talk via a more direct form of communication (ironically capable of reversing your question to "why are women not trying", rather than make voice calls) - not an unreasonable request, as voice calls have been used the past century, and are an acceptable, simple, accessible form of communication.
This not texting applies to everyone - I find it a "spam filter" of sorts for anything trivial, as the only people who communicate with me are those who find it important, or meaningful enough to contact me personally, and directly, which demands, by modern standards (sad to say this of a simple phone call), commitment. which gives more value to the interact and situation as a whole, because the person must be more sincerely dedicated, and interest, to give you this kind of personal attention, over texting.
This coming from the sex that is extremely lazy and apathetic when it comes to dating. In addition to the sick level of entitlement that many women have today, has made dealing with women feel like a chore. I hate to break it to you, but companies like L'oreal have been lying to you. Women are indeed NOT worth it. To be worthy of something you have to earn it, and once you have said worth, you need to maintain it with effort and hard work. And when it comes to effort, most women fail dismally. Seriously, what effort do women put forth in dating? And don't give me that "oh we spend time and money on our appearance" nonsense. This should me mandatory of both sexes to make themselves as presentable as possible. No, the truth is that the vast majority of women put absolutely no effort in dating. In fact many of you still conveniently cling to outdated notions like "Chivalry" and/or "Tradition" as an excuse not to try or not to get out of your comfort zone. How? I am not sure what you asking. Are you asking how women can lift their game? If so, that's quite simple actually. Look, many men and myself don't expect women to move mountains for us, but we do appreciate it very much when you try. This includes the following 1) Offer to pay for your share of a date: This is very important as it shows that you don't have warped sense of entitlement and that you are being considerate to the man. 2) Engage with him: When you are having a conversation, actually talk to him and ask him questions. Too many women just sit there and give very short or yes and no answers. I get it that women might be a bit shy on a date, but so are men. So do your best to overcome this and engage with him. 3) Don't be afraid to make suggestions: Instead of leaving all of the planning to him, give some suggestions of a few fun dates that you can go on. These are just a few examples of what women could can do. If a women were to do these things I would have no problem going the extra mile for her.
Conclusión: if we want to be with a woman like you and we are the respectful guy we should copy the army and soccer guy approach first, and then be more like ourselves. I tend to be rejected for letting the women initiate the sexual moves and other things, out of respect. My idea is to find someone to have a relationship with. If you tell me what they did that ticked he green lights for you I am all ears, I want to be a better lover for my next dates. On the other hand let's say, you just had but luck. Dating is a numbers game, be open about what you want and be ready to put boundaries to what you don't want. You seem to have part of the answer to why it happenes what you don't want. You rewarded the behaviors of 4 and 7. Maybe there's ways to reward guys that attract you like them but have behaviors that seem to point towards what you want. Humans are animals and attraction works by having an equilibrium with being able to provide what he other wants and being willing to provide it at the right rate (not to much or too little). I hope I knew how to do it better but that's the theory, I'm still learning to apply it.

Reason I slept with these 2 guys is cause I found them hot, I already knew it will be a hookup before I met them. They just simply looked too good.. I knew they want nothing I am usually against it but right now I felt like it so I went for it. Why not? Why shall I be judged for doing what guys do... its just as bad if guy hooks up and a woman does. Anyways like I said they looked hot, all muscular hot. I am attracted to footballers since long and army guy well that was also something. But again this was planned beforehand already. I knew it will be a hookup and also when I left I accepted it as that. However since 4th guy was all over me calling me, I thought I forgot something but he just wanted to talk. So we spoke for hours we had good talk.. then next day I screenshot his story from another account cause he looked so cute... I doubt he knew it was me but he deleted me then.. and I tried to work it out... but he was talking non sense and was rude so I left him alone. Next day he texted me and I responded cold cause of a day before drama. And he didn’t like it.. we spoke little bit then after some days I messaged him again apologising and complimenting him we spoke little bit but it was late hour so he was tired and said he will message me later, well he didn't.. It is incumbent on YOU to CHOOSE a worthy guy. Your picker is for shit. You cannot forge a relationship by texting. PERIOD. So just quit doing that - don't be waiting for a guy to respond to a text - use it arrange a next meet up IRL. That is the ONLY way you can really get to know someone. That is a complicated question. Could some only want sex? Sure. Are others busy and only have certain time to talk to you? Sure. Did you destroy a guy's feelings and then he ghosted you? Most likely. What are you bringing to the conversation, the table, and are you holding your end of the bargain to offer them a person who is intersted back, while still having her own money and being kind to the guy. Now take into account that some guys are just assholes while other mean well but aren't receiving the correct info back from woman to keep the dating going
I think one possible angle is that if there is a strong perception that there are plenty of fish in the sea, it no longer makes much sense to struggle too much to catch any particular one. The world is becoming more connected, online dating has become very popular replacing the usual way of developing acquaintances and friendships first, populations are growing denser in many areas. Many who are young in this era will probably truly see what appears like endless fish in the sea.

I still think the best way is to hang out in mixed groups (both sexes) and network. You can get to know each other a bit better this way before jumping into a date, and also might share some mutual friends or acquaintances who can vouch for each other so that you minimize the chances of ending dating some flaky type.
I never got into online dating and never tried it but my little sister did. And she had horrible experiences with it as you described. So she almost gave up completely on dating after she graduated and became a teacher but she did network and make lots of friends and even started throwing her home parties, and she got to meet new people at her home parties since her friends would bring over some new faces to meet. She met her now-husband that way at one of the home parties she threw, and now they're happily married with a daughter.
I met my wife here in Japan (my sister met her husband in the US) the same way. My wife was a friend of a friend and I met her for the first time at a picnic hanging out in mixed social groups with almost an equal number of men and women.
I don't have so much experience with that. I am from Japan originally as well as my sister, but we are both half-American and dual-citizens to both US and Japan. My sister chose to live in the US while I preferred Japan. That said, there are social clubs I've seen in Japan dedicated to meeting people living in Japan from abroad. I've never tried attending any of those though. I have some friends who do since they're interested in meeting people from abroad.

I think you can and I do think it's best to try to meet some people, hang out together. It's also the least frustrating way in my opinion because you can have lots of fun with people you meet along the way even between dating. Dating can be very frustrating and lonely if we focus too much on it.

I think the problem today is the Internet... too many options and also too much porn that makes guy's expectations too high.
When it's so easy to meet people and there are so many options, it's hard to really get to know someone and appreciate them for who they are as an individual. The internet makes relationships disposable. It cheapens them and makes them addictive. People are always looking for something "better," and think there are a million options. For many people it is an addiction that will leave them without any relationship in the end because they are chasing an unrealistic fantasy.
When I meet a girl I try not to invest any special feelings in her until I get to know her. It will either happen or it won't happen, I have no expectations. You can't force these things. Real relationships that last take a two way attraction that is beyond the initial animal instinct. So if you never get beyond that, you will never have a real relationship. I usually won't start investing feelings in someone unless I see a sure sign from her that she is receptive to it. When that moment happens that you both feel that way, it's magic.
Guys will apportion the amount of effort they put in based on how much effort they think a woman's worth. If they're not putting in effort, it's because they don't think you're worth it. And they don't think you're worth it if a) they're not attracted to you b) you don't appreciate their effort or are unfeminine c) you don't show any indication of being able to address at least some of their emotional needs d) you don't chase them e) they have other options f) they have other priorities in life above you
Because if you don't show any interest at all and just keep on waiting that's all you're ever going to be doing. A man that you want won't just magically show up in front of you. Step 1. Forget your list. Don't even have a list. Step 2. Make an effort to show you're interested in him. Step 3. Respect him. That's all you need to do really. It's not complicated.
1. There is a similarity between being very interested and coming across as very interested.
2. A BIG requirement in relationships is COMMUNICATION... back and forth. They may just be waiting for you to respond to their previous communication. You should NOT be hooking up on a first date.
3. They are more sex-oriented than wanting to be with you for romance. I would simply respond instead of ignoring and tell them you don't appreciate the insinuation. You tell them they are going too far and it won't be tolerated.
Somehow, I am inclined to agree with @Slim57 I understand and absolutely agree with men being gentlemen and genuine towards women when dating and making the effort, but in my experience, most women that actually do understand men tend to be the mature ones i. e. 30something and 40something to the wiser ones in their 50s and 60s.
Yes, men should make a big effort but some how I feel as though young women are strict on the ridiculous to the extent that men just get fed up. The standards women up hold should be high but also mature and reasonable. Yes there are assholes out there but I have also noticed that a good amount of young women are out of touch.
Flip the sexes around for a minute. Imagine I’m a guy who can’t get laid, asking why women don’t make the effort anymore.
It would be a pretty dumb question right? I’m obviously doing something wrong/off-putting if I can’t get laid. Other guys get laid all the time.
I have to change my approach, figure out why I don’t appeal to those women and fix the issue. It’s my job to attract them. Placing the blame on women will not help me with that at all, and you’d tell me that.
Now flip it back around to you. Plenty of other women are in relationships with good guys. You’re not. You’re choosing wrong, or you’re doing something wrong.
I don't know what men you've been seeing but me personally I'm tired of being the only one trying. I've been picking them up, driving to the date, paying for the meal, making fun conversation, bringing them home and being a gentleman. After I do this and I text them the next day saying I had a lot of fun and I'd like to do it again I get no answer. This happened way to much. If my girlfriend and I don't work out I'm not gonna do that anymore. I'll still be a gentleman and be supportive but to hell with these old values. If you want a relationship you'll need to pull your weight and put in some effort. I'm not alone a lot of guys are sick of being the nice guy and being taken advantage of.
Hey man, sorry to hear that. try to mirror more what you see from them. If they don't seem to put effort back out. And go for another. Sometimes you don't have to give too much it's portant to have an equilibrium. They need to see you have boundaries and can't be taken advantage of. It's something ingrained in them by evolution. Remember that men have a lower cost to having their genes spread. Women have a limited number of times they can endure pregnancies. So by evolution they become picky. Don't take it personal, take it as a learning. Try to find the balance and you'll be fine. Take not on what works and what doesn't.

A 16 year old in my country tried to talk to a girl he was interested in and was shot and killed for his troubles. 4. Paul McCartney tried to live with a disabled woman and found out the hard way that her disability was not only physical. 5. Al Pacino tried with a much younger woman and she dumped him, saying that life was "too hard with a man that old". 6. A guy in my country was forced by the courts to pay child support when the child wasn't his. Is it still worth it for men to try anymore?
I offered to drive 1.5hrs to see a girl who went to live with her mom. Maybe 2 months was too soon for her to want me to meet her mom? Never got to drive up there. Even tried to get her address from a friend and surprise her. (bad idea)? probably. She broke up with me a couple weeks later after not hearing from her. I think the friend was jealous. You tell me. I always feel I put in more effort than the girl does, but sometimes I think it scares them off too. I don't know. At my age I think women are so focused on work and getting their life together that they also don't know how to prioritize time.
Matter of worth. Women these last decades have been trying hard to be everything at once, making them bad at everything in general. Finding a woman with a clear idea of what she wants to do with her life has become considerably harder than it was before the beginning of the new millennium, and the last thing a man wants when meditating about making a family is a walking mass of complexes.
