Would this make me seem desperate for a job?

I applied to a nursing home for a Housekeeping Supervisor job a few hours ago.

i sent them a message on indeed & on their facebook page asking to setup a job interview.

i only sent it as i applied for the same job a back on jan 30th of this year. i only got this message on jan 30th i replyed to it but they got a message back.

this sat or Sunday would be best but any other day after that is also fine.

would it make me seem desperate if i called the place or sent them a email if i can find out their email?

The reason for that first message is it’s an automated response to all applicants. Calling them and asking to speak to the hiring manager will give you more clarification on the role and they’re more likely to set up the interview over the phone. I’d call, not email. It’s not desperation it’s taking an extra step. Most applicants do not follow up after not hearing from jobs or even call in to get updates, they are just spam applying to jobs on indeed. Even putting in an application on the official website of the business will get you ahead of the game, so do that as well.

It won't seem desperate. I work in a care home. We don't deal directly with recruitment. You have to apply on Indeed then it goes to a recruitment head office place that will screen applicants and only after they speak to you do you move to next stage and then we will hear of you and an interview be set up. It's too easy to fall through the cracks in the process. Maybe Emma has suddenly gone on sick leave or annual leave. So to make sure whoever is currently now sifting through applicants doesn't miss you, reach out. The care sector process is ridiculously long as it is! And there is nothing wrong with an applicant looking eager! Means u less likely to be one of the ones that guess through the whole process and then ghosts the company on day 1 of the job! Which for us, the company, is an extreme waste of our time and so disruptive!

You should have chosen a weekday early in the morning. I heard from a hiring manager years ago that they do not read resumes that show up after 10 a. m. cause it makes them believe the jobless person enjoys being unemployed and is sleeping in during the day.
