He says he will see me only during weekends? Is this a good thing?

I'm very confused as I don't know how to understand this guy. He's been hurt badly in the past. He very moody and controlling. He hangs out with friends. He is very attracted to me. Months ago he said we were only friends cut me off. After a while we got very close but then again he says we are only hanging out and that I've to be ready if he discards me for some reason. I'm torn as I do feel we have a great connection and I can take things slow. He's terrified I'll be upset and thinks I want a relationship. Well, I don't want a relationship right now and I can take things very slow. If I try to talk to him, he will cut me off again. I feel like I've to go with his rules. Now he says we can see each other only during the weekends. When I try to walk away, he gets upset. We are so busy during weekdays so might not be that bad to see each other once a week during weekends?

This guy seems to be a bag of problems and you are not doing yourself a favor to try to hang onto him.

Obviously, he is difficult to be with and even you realize that there are more negatives than positives to him.

He is moody and controlling. Those 2 traits of character should be a warning to you, a red flag because whatever you do, you will not be able to change that.

Also, I believe that he is not really serious about you because if he was, he would make time to see you not just on weekends. He hangs out with his friends but not with you which simply means that his buddies have priority over you.

To sum up: Nothing about this guy is good.

Sounds like he has a lot of baggage, so either deal with it and you will have to put up with all the strange behavior like only seeing him only on weekends or break up and try and find a more stable person

give him the time he needs to find out you're not going to hurt him it took me more than two years to get over the hurt. so just had one-nighters. on Friday nights
