Guys, Why would a guy first try to avoid a girl and years later try to get her attention?

He started acting weird and avoided me when my friend told him I admired him from afar. Two years later a former friend of him confirmed my crush to him and now he turns around to stare me down whenever he sees me and watch my movements from the corner of his eye and subtly mimics them (yawning, looking at the clock, stretching etc.), and sometimes gives me a Quick Look when he leaves the room. Why does he now seem interested when he used to avoid me? I look worse now than before

Why do you think he is interested? Nothing you said indicates interest from him. You sure watch him like a hawk though. How do you determine that he is looking at you in his peripheral vision. I guess you know what he sees
