Why do you think a girl noticeably tries to get a guy's attention and then walks the other way when he gets near and tries to talk to her?

In my opinion it sounds like she is playing hard to get. Wants to see if you will chase her. I could be wrong but I've known girls to do this.

For me, girls are often misinterpreting my kindness or friendliness so I can relate, but I think this situation is different. She wasn't being kind or friendly in my opinion. She was clearly looking my way and smiling specifically at me. I don't even know her name. Keep in mind this is a new girl at a huge workplace, so we don't see each other everyday and we definitely do have to be careful about flirting. I do understand she could have changed her mind, but please do tell me if any of the new info helps clarify the situation. Thank you again
