Guys mistreat girls because they haven't taken the time to learn or been taught how to treat a lady with respect. (Please note the switch from girls to ladies.)

If you are having trouble in this area, it is also in the type of guy you attract and are attracted to. Shy nerdy guys tend to treat women better than the "bad" boy. If for no other reason than out of fear of losing a girlfriend. Anyway, if you can identify the consistent traits of the guys who mistreat girls/you and start to avoid them you may find that most guys are actually respectful.

what's the underlying energy... find that and you find the source of the problem. Emotional energy is driving the behavior. It's in essence... training... how they were taught or how they perceived themselves projected onto you. Might be control.

Why does anyone mistreat anyone? It’s not just guys who do it.

The question presumes that the offender should know better — which he/she probably should.

However it’s a two-way street, if the person offended allows poor behavior rather than being honest and stating that it’s not acceptable, then the offender thinks it’s ok and keeps doing it.

If the offended person (or victim) HAS been clear and the unacceptable behavior continues then it’s time to walk away from the toxicity.

There are a variety of reasons this happens, and most of them are related to the guy hating himself and using women as a conduit for that energy.

Of course, not all men are like this. Many of them are wonderful and compassionate humans who are capable of emotional regulation. 🙂 You just have to learn to spot the ones that aren't—which is easier said than done.

Two reasons.

1. Most women do not choose men well. The fall in lust with the outside package or a few frilly words. Guys who are adept with women know when he has her. And once he has her there's no reason in his mind tend to that relationship. Because she's probably not going anywhere. And if she shows signs of that all he has to do is say a few frilly words and she's back in the fold.

2. The second one kind of piggybacks on the first one. Again, men who are adept with women know when they have them. Women if they aren't drawn to the guy and the guy is drawn to her instead. The guy has to put in a lot of work to get her to notice him, to get her to give him a chance, to get her to date him. Again guys know when women have made that turn. Now she is bonded to him. And now he can exact some PAYBACK for all the hoops she made him jump through. Because he knows at this point she won't want to break up with him.

Why do girls mistreat guys? It’s because some people aren’t very good people. But I also think people who intentionally choose bad people aren’t great people themselves. Sometimes someone does seem good at first. But if someone’s choosing shitbag men or shitbag women…. Usually they’re shitty people too.

Lack of emotional intelligence, sexist views, and/or can't take rejection. In relationships, its a matter of control issues, she's into it or so trauma-scarred by it she doesn't know how to deal with any other kind of relationship, over amount of jealousy, paranoia, past trauma of being cheated on, anger issues, and/or sexist views on women (such as thinking "women only exist to serve men" and/or "women are objects".)
