Why do men fix broken things and women just buy replacement things?

This is not always. It depends on what the item is like my dryer. my dad help me replace the belt I replaced the timer/switch on it. I replace the fuse on it like the battery and after the third time or fourth I replaced the entire thing but it’s cloth. It’s time to buy another T-shirt. It has too many holes. Some guys I know will save some underwear or a pair of socks that has a hole in it and is easier to replace it. It’s not lucky.

I've noticed the opposite but men are more willing to spend money to buy another item while women would rather fix that item and have the money to spend on something else

Because they don’t want to spend the time in effort and learning how to repair something at home they feel that it’s too complicated. It’s hard enough for men to do it and most women would just rather replace it but it’s a lot more expensive to do it that way.

Sometimes replacing makes more sense. Other times it doesn't. I usually try to fix things, but frequently end up with a pile of parts.

Women reflexively demand that men buy things to replace broken things. My ex once had a flat tire and insisted I buy her a new car. (I didn't).

My husband did something similar. He broke the car door and instead of fixing it he traded in the car 🙄

My wife just had a puncture and bought a new bike to replace it! In her defence, the old bike was 15 years old and she borrowed mine and found it much easier to ride!

Women lack the expertise to fix something and most of the time they want something new. And then there is the dopamine rush they get when using a credit card

Not true but I think guys are encouraged to, and therefore do, tinker with stuff.
