Why did he ask if I have any tattoos?

Hi all,

I think my physio has been flirting with me for a while and I’m trying to figure things out.

The other day he asked if I have any tattoos, and what kind of tattoo I would get if I wanted one.

Thoughts? Why would he ask this?

I ask people this just as a conversation starter. Because tattoos tend to have a meaning behind them, I see asking about tattoos as a good way of getting to know someone. If someone asks about my cherry blossom tattoo, they will learn about my family being part Japanese and how my sister and mom and I got matching tattoos. If they ask about my other tattoo, they will learn that I love roses and have had some hardships in life and live with a couple of mental illnesses.

Also, in some cultures, tattoos are still taboo. Take Japan for example, a lot of traditional Japanese places still don’t allow/service people with tattoos because, in the old days, if you had a tattoo, that meant you were in the Yakuza. Also, in ancient Japan, prisoners were tattooed.

Could be a few reasons. Maybe he has tattoos himself so he likes them. Could also be that he doesn’t like tattoos on women even though he may have some. Maybe he doesn’t have any. I don’t care for tattoos on women. I’m ok w a little something small like a heart or a butterfly on her wrist or ankle, maybe her hip. But girls w a lot of tattoos seem to have issues. Just my experience. To me tattoos are more masculine.
