How do narcissist use money to control you?

like he comes off as a provider but im not sure its genuine.. i have my own money and he never wants me to come out of pocket for anything but has made others in the past pay for things... before y'all start he called hisself a narc and im trying to get away yes but im too deep into mental abuse trying one day at a time this is my first experience with one..

They’ll offer you money to help you with something and if you ever cannot help them at a later date (even if you have a legitimate reason why you cannot help) they’ll use that time they gave you money to bash you.

In my experience, female narcissists usually control me and make me spend money on them, but I can definitely see your point.
