Tough to say w/o seeing. There are a few tricks esp. if it seems like it happens when speaking to a group. Take a few deep breaths most people. breathe from their chests and that prevents maximizing the oxygen getting absorbed. Deep belly breaths that fill your diaphragm first helps me. I've heard that picturing people. only dressed in underwear. There is a type of medication that is normally prescribed for high blood pressure. It is a family of them known as beta-blockers. A few are Inderal, Metoprolol, et al. Many rofessional who need to have veryt fine muscle control often use these sincd they work by blocking adrenalin receptors, Professional golfers who often need to make putts requiring precise degree of steadiness or concert violinists ( same reason). It is not the intended use for these drugs but has ben used for some time as "off-label" ( Rx for something other than FDA approved use. They can make you a little tired but are helpful if you feel like that type of drug would help but don't want to get invloved with benzodiazepines (Ativan, Xanax, Valium. Most MDs have no problem writing an Rx rather than for actual sedatives

Does it interfere with your daily functioning in life?

There’s stuff I want to do such as go to social events outside work and make friends (work is mandatory, so i can’t avoid it, it’s also not a social event as people are there to get a job done, it’s not as scary as going to an event where you’re expected to socialize).

I work in customer service and I manage to be decent at it but I have panic attacks when Karen’s attack me or get angry at me, and I’m just socially nervous all the time basically aside from that… I can function (panic attacks aside). I can do some small talk and make work acquaintances. I guess at this point I’ve been socially anxious for so many years maybe my whole life who knows, that it’s the norm and doesn’t seem weird to me but to men looking at me they notice it and point it out how I’m nervous for no apparent reason or always nervous. To me it’s just how I am around humans. I’ve probably always been this scared.

You might want to work with a therapist to find coping strategies

It’s possible but I work a lot and don’t trust therapists lol. It’s hard cause therapy requires you open up to a person…

No. Haven’t had a friend in like a decade or more. It’s lonely but you’re right I don’t think I can change on my own. I wish I could make friends.

So there's not much more you can do about this other than yoga and meditation to tone it down a little. Some people just have a twitchy disposition.

Actually, I often talk about this sort of issue, giving the example of celebrities who look twitchy (and don't have as much of a following as) celebrities who have a more "weighted" personality. The "weighted" personality looks and acts more confident; they light up a room when they walk in and make conversation easily, etc. etc. etc. By contrast, the twitchy personality always seems to want to flee from wherever they are at the moment.
