Long term relationship. Due to many variables beyond our control, we should end our relationship, we dont have to but for my best interest its best to end it. He loves me and im madly in love with him. He says to me if we are to break up he can't ever do it, it would have to be you because u are stronger.
Is that selfish of him? Convenient? Or he honestly mentally can't do it?

I would say it's a little bit of both. His reluctance and anxiety explain why he's putting the onus on you. Just the same he's communicating that he's immature in a coward and he sees it as a loving sacrificial act by putting the onus on you.
His immaturity and a cowardness is what got us to this point. Hecsees it as loving and sacraficial but I would say selfish act putting the onus on me.
I'm inclined to agree
He's willing to try and work things out so if you want the relationship to end, you have to be the one to end it.
I'm the same way because I believe most things can be worked through.
Thankfully I found someone who shares that same mindset.
