Why the awkward silence, warm smiles but also poker face?

A guy in my building who I see in passing will always smile warmly and talk softly. Polite gentlemenly and has often wanted to hold the door open for me and greet me.

In the past, I did catch him staring from afar.

Sometimes if I see him unexpected, he will give me this poker face (almost angry) and not say a word.

He will also be a little timid at times and there is some awkwardness.

While he is, very attractive to me but I just am pleasant and normal with him.

Pepper spray hahaha! No no, he's not a creep at all. I did before. Asked him his name, small chat chat. I could barely hear him talk.

A few times he saw me and slammed the door behind him and didn't even hold it and he fully saw me coming so I figure he's hormonal and not worth my time.

I know his family too. I get on with his mom. She seems to really like me.

The Dad though is a bit of a creep and makes subtle advances if his family is away so I don't want any trouble.

His mom is always going on about how pretty I am and the sister too. Not to my face like in a creepy way or an secret hate way. Genuine.
