Is it normal for my guy friend, who has a girlfriend, to talk to me for a week straight?

I met him through mutual friends and we all game together. Recently, he gave me his number so he can hit me up to game (since it’s more convenient than discord). Well I sent him a text and we’ve been talking non stop since then (about 7 days ago). Bc of the constant communication I thought he may have liked me until we exchanged instagrams and I found out he had a girlfriend because all of his posts include her (before then he never mentioned her).

Hmm sis, this doesn't really sound that normal to me. Like why is he texting non-stop with you for a whole week straight when he has a whole girlfriend already? That's sus as hell.

A few thoughts here:

- Could be he's just bored and wants someone new to talk to besides his girl. But still shady to spend that much time every day texting another girl.

- Maybe things aren't great with the girlfriend and he's getting some kind of attention/emotional fulfillment from talking to you a lot. Not cool though.

- Some dudes just like the ego stroke of having other girls into them, even if they're taken. Could be he's enjoying you thinking he's single.

- It's also possible he's trying to flirt or things could lead somewhere if you gave him an opening. Even if he says he'd "never cheat" - actions speak louder!

My advice is girl, pump the brakes on talking to him so much. Like back way off and make him miss you a little. He's got no biz being your texting BFF when he belongs to someone else. Protect your peace. Let him put more effort into his actual relationship!

Yeah luv, I get it's a tough situation. Sometimes it's hard to know what to do when friends start acting sketchy. On one hand you don't wanna cause drama, but you also don't wanna be part of something shady, you know?

Ultimately you gotta do what feels right for you. If it were me though, I'd probably just start distancing myself from talking to that dude one-on-one so much. Keep it surface level in the group chat or whatever. Don't confront him directly if you don't feel comfortable, but don't give him as many opportunities to get inappropriate behind his girl's back either.

And don't feel bad about it - you didn't do anything wrong, he's the one being unclear. It might be awkward at first, but real friends will understand when you set clear boundaries. Don't let him make you feel guilty for protecting yourself.

Hope things work out alright. Just follow your gut and do what you need to feel okay with the situation. That's the most important thing. And know you got your real friends to back you up if anything pops off too. You got this!

My intuition tells me about two outcomes here, if the guy is decent, then his relationship is probably declining, and you bring a new connection he needs. If he isn't decent, then... You know what it means :D

I don't know I’ve been in relationships in the past where my boyfriend had female friends who he talked to and gamed with daily and it never bothered me so I don't know what that’s suppose to mean pertaining to my situation.
