I've been noticing him staring at me many times since the past week. He mostly looks away quickly whenever I look back. I've also been noticing him spending a lot of time near my bay in the office. He sits at my extreme opposite. We've only spoke like 4 times and he initiated the conversations it was just for chit chat and I was surprised that he knew my name because he has a whole department under him and I don't directly report to him but to my manager. Also, there was a particular incident, an escalation against me from a customer and he sent that issue to me personally on WhatsApp but actually he doesn't do that. He highlights all the escalations in our group.

It can be hard to say but if he’s looking yeah be probably likes what he sees I do want you to remember that interest comes and goes so if you’re into him approach and express it. Tell him you have noticed him looking and that you are into him see if he will meet for a simple coffee date.

If you’re not into him then just keep a professional and friendly relationship with him and don’t show any signs of interest like that. If he does make any move be respectful and turn him down easy. Don’t make it more awkward for him as well as yourself unless he can’t take no for a answer.

Look, dating someone in the workplace is a risk so you may need to decide if you really feel like he’s someone you could be with. Like I said a simple coffee date could help you determine that as well before going too far. If you don’t feel it’s going to work just be respectful and honest about it and hopefully he can do the same.

At the same time he may not approach you because it’s too risky and loose interest and go for somebody else. Then you would see him move on to be with someone else wondering what happened.

At the end of the day rejection is a possibility there can be many reasons for rejection. I know that’s scary but look at it this way for one thing you have closure, you’ll never wonder what could have been, and most importantly of all you’re not wasting your time on someone whose never even going to approach.
