Is being called very pretty really an insult?

A guy said I’m very pretty. He didn’t call me beautiful or stunning. Was it really an underhanded way of putting me down?

He gives you a compliment and it wasn't good enough..

Maybe that's as far as his vocabulary goes.

. Maybe he was shy but he wanted to say something.

Maybe he knew if he said you were beautiful you're going to have the same question except for why didn't he call you gorgeous..

. It was a compliment. He was trying to be nice he was trying to communicate. .

And to be honest you must know who you are and what you look like so that's all that really matters right.

So it doesn't matter what somebody says to you because in your heart you already know who you are you already know what you look like.

. I say pretty too sometimes..
But if I know the person and I know who they are and if they have a beautiful heart and they're beautiful in the inside that's usually when I say you're very beautiful.

Also keep in mind that most girls are not very pretty, let alone beautiful or stunning (far from it).

It's a decent compliment to give, so you should learn to take it and not feel entitled to so much more.
