I am curious though. Why are men calling women females instead of women? What’s the purpose? I’ve noticed that and I don’t understand why.

For many it's a holdover from the military or prison. Anything that is separated by sex/gender is grouped into "male" or "female" (e. g. barracks, latrines, a gazillion forms). I work for the Army and also worked in a county justice center with inmates and an interesting feature is they refer to women as female and men as male. So when I hear someone say female or male I often presume they're either in the military or done some time. Other than that it could be that it's basically the "let's go Brandon" of the dating world. I think many guys call a woman a female as a shorthand way of saying, "You are biologically a female but you don't act or look particularly feminine, so I won't call you a lady or a woman."

It's simple different places sometimes speak differently and also some people get taught differently but for me I usually call women lady or girl, I don't like the fact men is in women 🤨
