If I'm interested in someone...

It would be the effort they put in. Wanting to text, good morning, good night, checking up on me. Feeling like I finally matter to someone.

Of course, I don't mind compliments or even being told something affectionate. Being asked to hang or date somewhere, cuddling, etc... All that is well and good.

But feeling wanted just for being who I am, not for what I can give or do... that's enough for me to feel cherished. Many men feel similarly, and I'm sure women do as well.

Of course, this doesn't work as well if I'm not interested in someone back. But getting a random text lets me know I'm being thought about. Otherwise the phone is usually silent, devoid of notifications. Devoid of feeling like I exist.

That's not to say I cannot exist alone. I enjoy my own company sometimes, I'm just trying to make a framework to answer the question.

I don't know why but when she brought over food she cooked when I was working from home during the break ngl I thought thats girlfriend material right there and I am not even that traditional it was just her effort she showed when we were just dating.
