Why does it seem like men who already have girlfriends are the ones who seem or act or feel like they’re the most entitled to other women’s energy?

Why are guys with girlfriends the ones who have seemed the most entitled to my time and energy and life? I know you’re thinking ‘well why are you giving them attention or your time etc?’ But these have been coworkers who I can’t just ignore or escape from. These are guys who are in the place I am at almost everyday because I don’t want to be starving or homeless. I am a cordial nice person. In fact I’m super quiet and even shy. So believe me when I say that I am not going out my way to talk to, to chase, to engage, to get the attention of men at work let alone taken men.

the taken ones are the ones who seem to go out their way to be pushy in getting closer to me mentally or emotionally. Even when I’ve purposefully distanced (to the extent you can while still having to operate as a team mate in a workforce) from them, I notice they seem either hurt or offended… on a personal level.

So this makes me wonder today. Why? Why are guys who already have a treasure at home… Whh do they seem the most entitled to getting more and more?

there may not be a solid answer but I’m open to peoples thoguhts.

Hmm well that is an interesting question. It isn't something that I have experienced personally. I think you hit the nail on the head that you shouldn't be giving them your attention in the first place. Just keep it cordial as you say you do. No need to be anything other than professional when at work. You sound an awful lot like the person that keeps making new accounts to talk about having a crush on a coworker. That person is obsessed with coworkers and this post has a similar vibe to it. If you are not that person then my apologies but I notice that the user that always is posting about that also loves to make her questions public only which is an anomoly among brand new level one users. Ugh, that’s so annoying, honestly. It’s like some dudes feel the need to flex their ego when they’ve already got someone, like they wanna prove they can still get attention from other girls. You’re just out here trying to be respectful, do your job, and these guys are acting entitled to your energy? It’s ridiculous.


And the fact that it’s your coworkers makes it even harder, ‘cause you can’t just walk away from it. You’re just trying to keep it professional, but they’re the ones crossing lines. You shouldn’t have to deal with that just for being polite or quiet – it’s not an invitation for them to come at you.


It’s so frustrating when taken men act like this, but don’t let their behavior make you question yourself. It’s all on them being disrespectful, not you. Keep doing you, stay classy, and if you need to, don’t hesitate to set those boundaries. You don’t owe them your time or energy, no matter how they act.

Most men operate in the egosphere and have a lot of audacity. They are not reprimanded for not respecting boundaries as boys so they feel entitled to behave badly and that is what manliness is. That they managed to get a woman to date/sleep with them increases their ego and egoistic people act with entitlement.

Yes, men are mostly concerned with how other men perceive them and women are not much more than the clothes, tools, vehicles and houses (if they're on that level) they acquire to compete.

They usually don't care abut our day. Our thoughts. Our hobbies none of that. More men than you would believe see women as appliances.

I've been there. Tried my best to be invisible. Nothing else worked so I left without notice. But if you really need this job.. maybe tell the HR about the situation? And maybe they can do something about the situation?

I think it’s pretty much every job. entitled men are everywhere ! The workplace especially because women can’t escape them there.

I guess you are too nice. Did you ever say something like, "Excuse me, I am trying to work"? Or “go peddle your bullsh! t somewhere else”.
