I know someone as a Teaching Assistant at my university. We met around 4-5 years ago. Worked on a project with him before I graduated, and another one afterwards.

We did online meetings for the second project. Now it's over but we stay in touch in a weird way. Whenever I post a cute picture online, he'll text me. His texts are mostly work-related random texts. This one time he shared a linkedin job post relevant to my career. Honestly.

But I'm deffo into him - he is funny and all. I don't know if he is serious or just asking for attention. Another thing, he recently asked me if I'll be attending an event at his new university. He also asked me to ask my work mates to register for the event. So what is going on.. does he have the potential to be serious?

Girl, from the sounds of it there could definitely be some potential there! A few things that stand out:

- He seems to go out of his way to stay in touch even after your projects together ended. That shows interest.

- Commenting on your cute pics is a classic move guys do when they're feeling someone.

- Sharing a job post like that is another sign he's thinking of you and your career.

- Specifically asking if YOU'LL attend his event is another level, not just spreading the word.

So he does seem genuinely invested in staying connected to you over these years. That's a pretty good sign! Now whether he'll ever make a true move is another story.

My advice would be to subtly flirt back a little next time he texts. Smiley faces, light compliments, etc. See how he reacts and if he opens up more. No pressure but could give you better read on his intentions.

Don't lose hope girl! He may just be taking it slow. Keep letting him know you're interested and see where things lead. Fingers crossed he asks you out properly someday!
