Is he into me, or just likes the attention?

I recently asked out a very shy guy at work. He said he was seeing someone else and I said that was cool but, I have caught him staring at me a lot since then. Other people too have noticed him staring at me and lingering a little longer than his job calls for when working near me. BTW these other people don't know I asked him out or that I like him. He will not start a conversation with me, but he'll talk to me if I talk first. Our conversations are short when around other people, but not so much if we are alone. I do like him, he knows that but he won't give me any indication of whether he's into me. He has only been with the girlfriend a short while. What do you think?

Seems like he's playing games...

Maybe he wants you to be jealous or see him as a challenge since he's already dating a woman. Either way, he's giving very mixed signals. You asked him out and he basically deflected the question entirely, not giving a clear-cut yes or answer, but simply stating that he is already involved with someone. And him staring at you incessantly and for prolonged periods of time is understandably going to have you questioning his motives.

There is a possibility he has feelings for you, but right now he has stronger ones for his girlfriend since he hasn't made a move.

I would say the next time you two have a conversation alone, ask him how things are going with the girl he's seeing then see what he says. It will definitely catch him off guard and you'll get a straightforward answer.

I did the same thing and got the same result.

He IS into you, he's shy and he's into how much he loves your BOLDNESS and BRAVENESS and that's something he is lacking and the more he thinks about it he is also thinking about how that equate in bed! Is she really aggressive and passionate and hot! Yeah, he suddenly forgetting the "girlfriend" and is now infactuated with you because you had balls - something he doesn't!

Depends how shy he is. I almost wonder if he really doesn't have a girlfriend and he just said that because you caught him off guard and he doesn't feel comfortable dating you - whether that's because your coworkers or he is just insecure about himself.

It seems like he does like you and is attracted but is not sure whether he wants to see you or not
