Guys behaviour?

I’m having trouble understanding this guy, keep in mind I’m very inexperienced in the dating field and it was my first date ever. So we talked for about 2 weeks and went on 1 date and it went so well, so I thought I could ask him about the potential of us dating? I think it was a miscommunication because I was merely asking about the possibility but I think he perceived it as me asking him right then. He seemed to have a panic I think and starting saying we’ve only been on 1 date and he’s too busy with life and work right now and I’m being pushy bla bla. But all the things he said seemed totally opposite from the last 2 weeks, he kept saying he likes me and saying sexual things and WAS hinting at me being his girlfriend! Saying I’d look cute wearing his sweaters etc. So what went wrong? We both like each other so why doesn’t he want to date? Why be on a dating site if you’re too busy with work/family? So I even asked him, do you still want to talk? He says yeah!! So why doesn’t he want to date? I’m so confused. He’s been in a ton of relationships already it seems and none lasted more then 2 years and it seems like he’s been hurt a lot, is it possible he just is scared/ has commitment issues? He stopped saying sexual things to me after that and seems distant but Is still talking to me every day like he likes me? I’m too scared to ask for another date now and he also hasn’t planned anything new and it’s been a few weeks but he messages me often?

I think he understood it like you wanted to push him towards a relationship instead of you just inquiring about spending more time with him. I'm sorry today's dating world has become very cynical.

Maybe throughout his life, his relationships were always just about sex. You could be one of them. I don’t want to think negatively, but some men can be very heartless.

That was what I was kinda worried about , but after I asked if we could date he completely stopped being sexual with me and honestly I feel like he became not as interested and that hurt and made me so confused. He still talks about other things and is friendly with me and I FEEL like there is a genuine connection going on but not sure?

My guess is that he doesn’t want to cut off communication until he gets bored of you and fulfills his needs. I think once he starts to get bored, he’ll completely leave you.

Some people are not honest and are liars. They write characteristics on their profiles that don’t belong to them just to deceive others. All they want is sex. For people like this, love, affection, and the feelings of others don’t matter. Because of people like them, every woman looks at us men the same way and accuses us of being like that.
