Is it a good idea to be friends with your ex's bestfriend, esp if he is a guy?

I dated a guy for almost a year and within that time period i became close with his 2 bestfriends.. One of them have become very close to me and i am with him... should i keep this friendship or not... he's like my bestfriend too and he cares about me?
