Neurodivergent males: how do you act around females that you are secretly crushing on?

Well I'm neurodivergent and before I was dating my girlfriend I was crushing on her but I just made sure to be a good "friend" like spend as much time with her as I could and always be there for her if she needed to talk about something. I didn't really flirt or make my feelings obvious because I was scared she wouldn't like me, but I did make it clear I wanted to be around her I guess lol.

I also thought I shouldn't fancy her because at the time she was 17 still and I was 19 and her friends were pretty cautious about older guys and didn't really approve of under-18 people dating a few years older. So I guess that was part of it. But she ended up being the one to ask me out.
