How to men behave when they are crushing on their female best friend?

This guy and I have been closer than normal since we met, the other day he drunkenly confessed how much he loves that he met me and that he thinks I'm his best friend. He will give me his jacket if I'm cold, drive to the shop to give me a lift home if I tell him I'm shopping and I have loads to carry home (without me asking for help), talks to me every single day, I know all his friends. People constantly ask if we are dating which we laugh off. But I'm 99% sure he's not attracted to me at all. He's touchy, physically affectionate with me. He never hugs people but he hugs me hello and goodbye every time I see him. Is this how guys just treat their female friends?

Scientifically Men and women can not become real best friends as there is always a possibility of affection...
I don't know why you think that but guys don't normally dont go that far with a female friends... there is something more to it than it seems

I just don't think he's attracted to me but he's acting like he has feelings for me big time. Maybe the attraction is what's stopping him? He's always coming to my rescue and does things like cut my lawn and buy me flowers and stuff that isn't normal for friendship. I've had a lot of guy friends and it's never been like this.

With guys it's kind of weird with you girls as best friends I mean common it's not like we can come up and punch you in the arm Lmao or in general horse around. My best friend is a girl whom I have known for 20 Years and No she is not a quote " Friend " with benefits as of today though I have had a few in the past to be honest 😉😁 I actually enjoy being with her
