There's a guy at work that I'm close to.

He's very chivalrous to me. He opens doors for me, watches his language around me because he knows I don't like vulgar language and he's very helpful to me if I need help with something. When we are alone we have deep conversations about life. He recently asked another girl out but they are just friends at the moment. I'm confused about the situation. Why would a guy go the extra mile to be a gentleman for a girl that is just a friend? Does he like me or is he just being a good friend? I appreciate any answers in advance. Thank you!
