Am I wrong for telling my boyfriend just because he doesn't understand my Jokes doesn't mean he's funnier than me?

My boyfriend and I were having an argument wherein he said that he's funnier than me because sometimes my jokes "fall flat". I told him that no, they just fly right over his head because dry humour is often misunderstood. He then said that I just use dry humour as an excuse to be rude to him and that I'm actually just unfunny with bad comic timing. That hurt me and then he said that I can't handle a playful fight and if I didn't understand he was joking, I shouldn't call myself and expert on dry humour. The fight started because we were just playfully talking and I called him a wanker 3 or 4 times and he said that I have no right to mock him for liking my body or reacting by laughing when he expresses his love for me. Am I wrong for defending myself and calling him a condescending jackass?
