Game addict and attention? Do I leave or stay?

My boyfriend plays videogames from the time he gets up till he goes to bed since he doesn't have a job rn... Starts in a few days... He will play till he gets tired and then puts a show or movie on till he's ready to go to bed all the way. He claims he plays to destress and to put one thought at a time knowing he has ADHD it's hard to do so. But he won't give me the time of day unless he plans to go see his family. Haven't had sex in months because of the stress he's in or at least that he claims he's in. I'm not sure how to handle this because he gets offensive when I try to talk to him. I'm sick of not getting attention that I deserve yet he claims I'm his best friend. I'm sick of not going to bed at a decent time anymore, knowing I get cranky after midnight, or him keeping me up with the TV on. I have mental health issues myself but require more attention and more sleep then he's giving me. Is this something I can change or do I need to leave him? I want a life with him but don't know how much more I can take.

Before this was he working? I do t see an issue w playing g games as long as it’s in moderation. I don’t get why women don’t like when men play video games. Oh wait cause he’s not focused on her. Honestly that stress he’s talking about may be coming from you. I don’t know. I’m sure he has his side of the story. I think you should have taken care of your emotional issues before getting into a relationship. There’s nothing wrong w playing video games. Women grew up playing dress up, putting on makeup, which a lot of you still do today. That could be considered childish too. Women are more concerned w not getting attention. Women sit around watching soaps, dramas, etc. To me that’s childish, watching drama on tv.

Id understand if he was alone and has no life or has a disability but I don't see how he doesn't feel the need to do something not just financially but also with how he uses his time if he has a woman, there should be some form of control if he's in a relationship.

It sounds like you two are in very different places right now. While I don't see an inherent problem with playing video games ( I do too to relieve stress and help focus my adhd), playing them from waking to sleeping is an addiction.

It seems like you said he’ll start working in a few days. I’d give him a few weeks or so after working to see if he’s changed. If he still ignores you and only cares about games, it’s time to leave.
