Just thinking about Diana for example, or Jennifer Aniston who wore revenge dresses because of their cheating exes. Would you, as men, say that that has any effect on your feelings or thoughts in any way? How so?
And besides “moving on”. Would you say that the girl airing the guys laundry to his friends piss him off? Or seeing her with someone hotter than yourself?

And with Aniston it's not "revenge dressing," it's just dressing. She is in a profession where her only task is to look fabulous. So she does. Will guys look? Sure, of course. Will her ex look? Well Brad apparently still does, so... there you go.
Bottom line is that a guy will retain certain visuals and certain emotional memories. Some will see the ex again with the "revenge bod" or whatever and feel a twinge, but it's not necessarily enough to "get the home fires burning" again.
I think the thought would most likely be "BITCH! She could have looked like that for me but didn't make effort and put me short rations anyway. Just as well I dumped her ass for a girl who reliably puts out."
As for airing laundry, yes it would be a piss off. But really cringe to his friends who won't want to hear it. They'll tell him though and he'll air her dirty panties. So not a good revenge plan.
I think the defect in these revenges is it is all about the ex. So it is not moving.
Getting on with your life, not stooping to their level, being the best you that you can be, and finding a man who cares about you & gives you what he could never is how you get back at him.
Don’t rub it in his face or text him or waste another breath on him, get up & get out & move on for your self interest and your self improvement. That’s what I plan to do if it ever comes down to it.

What is a revenge dress? Do you have an example. Rule of thumb is that it isn't worth to get revenge. Just let it go and move on. Only evil people take satisfaction in others misery. You clearly aren't the bigger person here if you looking for revenge let alone revenge "dresses". Why not just move along and be happy with your own self. I don't know. It seems healthy to pick yourself up and dust yourself off after a breakup. It's a matter of self empowerment.
It's not so much to hurt your ex. It's more to boost your own self confidence, show that you have moved on, and are as good as ever.
Doing it with the ex in mind is weird, though. You already left them behind. Why try to get a reaction unless you aren't over them? It's revenge enough for them to realize that you are fine without them and they no longer have control over you.

They’d either enjoy it themselves, view her as a slut, solidify why they don’t want to be with her, or just remain indifferent because they weren’t interested/connected/ bonded to her to begin with. There’s only so many things they could feel about this, and jealous over an outfit seems very unlikely/rare. It’s usually a woman thing to have emotions tied to clothing like jealousy. Guys it’s just lust, appreciation, protectiveness, or indifference. Everybody wants justice when they have been wronged. That’s natural.
But the women wearing the “revenge dresses” are actually demonstrating they are very insecure and still have feelings for their cheating ex partner.
The best revenge is success (and respecting yourself). It’s saying “you want to cheat on me with that? Well I won’t get in your way. Have at it. I’m gone.” Then you walk away and mean it.
But that is so much easier said than done. It’s the right way to handle things. But it’s tough. Because unless you are a sociopath it’s not as simple as turning off your feelings for someone like a light switch. But again it’s about respecting yourself.
However women who are wearing “revenge dresses” don’t really respect themselves. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

It was also about pissing off the royal family in general since the dress went against the royal rules. Not only that but it was also to show the public that she was going to be just fine and she was not gonna hide away in shame.

Two reasons:
1. There's no point to having a dress to get revenge on someone you don't think wronged you, and
2. Because we know that who broke up with who isn't relevant; we know that we wouldn't want anything more to do with the woman either way.

Break up is a blow to your self esteem. One way women seem to deal with it is to get validation from others that they are still desirable. And if it pisses off their ex at the same time, so much the better.
I guess for him, his reaction relates to how much trouble she's caused him, how invested in her he was, how much relationship damage he perceived, and how much he valued her physical appearance.

Second question: Trashing me to my friends would probably get on my nerves, but in more of an annoyed way than some kind of crushing defeat that makes me regret my actions.
