My boyfriend and I have been together 7 months. He's never had a girlfriend before me. For our FIRST Valentine's day, I have gotten my hair done, nails done, a new outfit and him a gift. Meanwhile he waited until last minute to plan our date. Vday is on a Friday (today) and he called me Monday trying to make reservations at a restaurant and everything said booked (we checked online). He apologized admitted he should of booked something sooner but he's never had a girlfriend on vday before. So I said well that's okay why don't we just get take out do and do a picnic inside. He agreed but also made dinner reservations incase we wanted to go the day after Valentine's day. Yesterday the day before vday he texted me, "Just to let u know I told my friend I would help him move for a bit on Saturday morning" (the friend just got an apartment). But now I'm upset because it feels like he doesn't care much about our first Valentine's day. He didn't really plan anything, I got him a gift without knowing if he even got me anything, now he's going to be leaving me the morning after to help his friend? his defense is that I would be sleeping while he helps his friend move but does anyone else feel this is wrong? A month ago I even hinted at how I would of loved to get a room for the night (because originally we were supposed to go to this nice restaurant far away). Yet, nada. Now I have told him I'm upset, it's Valentine's day and he hasn't even texted me to say happy Valentine's day... thoughts?

Valentine's Day is the worst day of the year to go out to dinner. The kitchen is throwing food onto plates. The wait staff is overwhelmed and will never get to you. The wait times to get in are horrendous even with reservations. From the minute you sit down they will be rushing to get you out so they can turn over the table 3 times. You couldn't have a worse dinner experience.
The night before Valentine's Day, no one is going out. You have the whole place to yourself. The restaurant is full of fresh food for the next day. You will get quick, attentive service, and bigger than normal portions because they have so much food.
He won't come to his own wedding either, he says he promised his friends that he would go to the bar. You have to get rid of him.
i assume your boyfriend was the one who asked you out and courted you
