How are guys when they make eye contact w their crush?

So the guy I like stares at me a lot and for long periods of times to the point of my friends noticing, which makes me wonder if he might feel the same way, but there’s this other guy that stares at me as well but whenever I catch him he would always look away or our eye contacts would be very brief yet with the guy I like he never looks away and maintains eye contact for a long time even when I look away he still looks with no expression on his face but his eyes become big (as seen by my friends) . Which just gives me mixed signs, like is he into me or not. I usually hear that when a guy likes someone they’ll get flustered and shy then look away when they make eye contact or when they get caught staring like the second guy. But this dude just keeps staring, I can’t figure him out at all.

Well... this is odd. So you're right, usually a guy would look away if you caught him staring (just like girls do. same thing).

I'm trying to imagine this dude staring at you and not looking away when you stare back. Are you sure he's not a serial killer? That was my first thought. It's weird. I don't think I've ever seen maintained eye contact like that during the flirting stages.

I have one possible explanations.

1. The guy is EXTREMELY confident (like to the point it might be concerning. Narcissist vibes)

I am not saying that is right. I'm not sure. It's just the only thing I can think of (aside from serial killer... which I'm still leaning towards to be honest)

Does he do anything else that might indicate his interest?

I'm having trouble picturing him doing this non-creepily. It sounds like you as well as your friends didn't see it that way. It's weird though. Just odd, unusual.

All guys act different. I had a crush who I usually would sneak looks at, but sometimes she would catch me. I would get caught in her gaze and freeze up.

Eye contact is always a signal, especially at the start! However it's just a cue sometimes. I used to catch my first ever girlfriend staring at me, she would then look away. I call it the curious phase. When you first get a crush on a girl, your just captivated by them.
