If it's just the two of you, then you can assume he is probably interested in you romantically. You can consider it, a date, but with no specific expectations.

He does however, have hopes that something will happen between you two. He's definitely thinking about that, in inviting you over.

I am not saying he's planning on trying to make some move towards making his romantic intentions clear. He may be. But I know he definitely hopes something will happen.

So, if you're not interested in this guy romantically, you may want to either make an excuse. Or play dumb and tell him you're brining one of your friends along with you.

If you are interested in this guy romantically, then this is whole movie thing is really good news. You would be safe to make your own move. No risk, he wants you to.

No 16 year-old guy, is ever inviting a girl over alone, to watch a movie... if he doesn't hope something will happen.

Now I'm not saying you should do anything crazy. But even just sitting right beside him on the couch, you can kinda press the side of your leg against the side of his leg.

(a move that's subtle, but an unmistakable signal. And if he doesn't move away, that's him sending you a signal back. Then there's the delicious tension while you're both there pressing legs. Sounds silly, but it doesn't feel silly. And it works very well without you having to put-yourself out there risk-wise).

Or, of course use the move of your choice. But if you like him, you should go for it. Make sure he understands that you like him back by the time you leave. Even if you don't talk about it.

Just thinks if the movies is boring you both might do something more exciting. Also a movie can turn a girl on like a sex scene or some girl get turn on by scary movies. Usually the guy is trying to get close to you at his place. He could just wanna watch a movie with you.

There’s a number of reasons. One could be that he’s tired. Maybe had a long day at work so he doesn’t want to go out. Doesn’t always mean he’s broke as one girl assumed. I’m not saying that isn’t always the case cause yes he may not have a lot of finances. It could also be to try to get laid. He may just not feel like going out. Maybe he does really just want to watch a movie w her at home. Eat some snacks, snuggle on the couch.
