Is he falling for me?

He texted me this morning that he knows that he doesn't text as much as he should and he's sorry that he doesn't but that he cares about me/thinks about me a lot.

I was shocked that he used the c word. My ex never did that in the beginning. He seems to be really checking all my boxes. Like that was so romantic.

And we haven't even kissed yet. Just two dates so far.

And I am being very considerate of his schedule which is pretty busy/hectic which is why I didn't bring it up about the lack of communication througout the week but the fact that he acknowledged it without me having to was really just wow.

I don't want to read too much into this because it's still early days, but I think about him a lot too and care about him as well.

Yes, it does sound like he's falling for you. You really don't often see a guy who isn't communicating as much as he should send something like this.

I actually read quite a bit into this (in the context of what I already know about your situation).

It does speak volumes about what kind of guy he is. In my head, I divide guys into 'types.' (it's not exact, its for my own mental organizing). There are many types of guy. Only a few type are what I call "a decent guy" or "a good guy."

I don't know enough details to say for sure that he seems to be a good guy. But the few things you've told me about him, and how he has been with you, do all point that way. This is a BIG piece to confirm that view.

It really is rare, that any guy would feel that they should send you a message like that. Most guys who aren't communicating enough will just... assume it's ok unless they hear differently. So usually, this would be something you would end up having to bring up, for it to even be acknowledged.

It shows he is self-aware enough to understand that he's not texting enough in the first place.

It shows he is thinking about the effect his actions are having on your feelings. (that's super important)

It shows he values what you two are building, and wants to make sure you are aware of that. It shows he values you as someone special he doesn't want to lose (if you are unhappy with his lack of communicating as much as he should).

It shows that he is falling for you. For sure. In the context of your situation, I don't think you're reading too much into this at all.

If this is the first time anyone has really talked about feelings and the "c-word", then that's honestly a genuinely big step.

He was taking the emotional risk of putting his cards on the table and being vulnerable. Just like with the exclusivity thing. He took that same risk when it comes to the vulnerability part... he just didn't take the additional risk of following it with "so do you feel the same way? Would you also want to be exclusive?"

That's fine. What that means is, you can be all the more assured that you'll get the response you're hoping for, when you do have that Exclusivity Conversation. You were already going to do it. Now there's even less reason to be nervous. He took some of the emotional risk himself.

Now, don't forget to reciprocate. You better use the "c-word" specifically, when you reply to that. (or the next time you talk to him. But it's important to send him back the signal that you feel the same way about him. He's looking for it. It's absence will be taken as a sign too. The wrong sign)

First, "cares" is not "the c word". (SMH...)

Next, some guys will text something like this one moment and then continue to be distant. He's either keeping you on the hook or otherwise trying to gt you to feel some sort of attachment to him. Don't fall for it. Keep moving.

There's no need for YOU to be considerate of "his hectic schedule". If a guy wants to be with you he will climb mountains to do it. If he is distant it's bc he wants to be. Period.

I really do hope the best for you and I really hope this genuinely works out for you because it gives me hope! I personally have been in this situation and still am. It’s been six months already. I asked what we are and we still have an undefined relationship. He still wants to see where things go, which I think is full of sht. I tried to give up knowing that a routine that once was changed all of a sudden that’s exactly what’s happening to me. But aside from that, I really genuinely wish and hope that the best goes good for you because not all guys are the same. Not all guys are bad. 💜

I'm sure he could be. It would be easy to do I believe but it's not about him it's about you you have to remember you are just getting out of a relationship and there's nothing more you would want is to get into another one to fill that void. So you cave to take your time and make sure it's real before you jump in to it
