How quickly can a guy decide if he is attracted to you/likes you?

After meeting a girl for the first time/being introduced, how soon can a guy decide if he likes you/finds you attractive?

I was introduced to several new people today at a church. It was very nice, and went on naturally... I would say something like "hey, I'm melanie" then they'd respond with "hey, I'm ___" (and vice versa).

However, I was introduced to this one guy who looked at me for more than a few seconds without saying anything, like a random pause, then said hey... etc

Am I overthinking this? He could just be anxious, right?

A physical attraction can be immediate. Knowing if you like someone for more than that appearance can take much longer especially if you only see them occasionally. If you want to get to know the guy better, try talking to him more next time and get his number.

Likes you? As in wants to pursue something with you? That's a wide range with MANY variables. At your age guys are still kind of idealistic and stupid when it comes to love. As we get older we get that beaten out of us.😆

My advice is just be friendly. There's not enough there to make any kind of a judgement. But if he has interest he'll talk to you again eventually. But the more approachable you appear the more that's likely to happen.
