I think despite his best intentions the institution of the catholic church was riddled with abuse and corruption that he ultimately did nothing to stop or change.

He was a holy man who devoted his life to serving God. He was most definitely a sinner like all of us but at his core a good man. He is with Jesus now.

There is a such thing as hell. And you are going there with the Pope if you don't repent and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

Sorry, I don't see how someone can do evil then just repent they are forgiven and that's that. If that's true nobody would go to hell and it would be pointless.

Repenting means change of heart. You feel guilty and convicted of your sin. When you repent, you don't go back to your sin. God tells us don't go back to you sin. When you accept Jesus Christ as you Lord and Savior and you follow Him. You don't go back to your old way of life. The old life is dead to you and you move forward with Christ.
Matthew 7:21-23 states, "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven".

Yeah which one can do at anytime right? Cause I've got until hopefully 80s doing all the bad I want to then change right?
Or is there some made up time limit that I have to change my ways right now? But that makes no sense since many who asked for change and forgiveness were older than me, and it so called worked for them right?

See you don't have a change of heart. You'll still go to hell with the contaminated thinking you have. You think just because you ask for forgiveness you're going to heaven. That's not true. Many who have called onto God will still go to hell because they lived their lives doing their own sinful will.

Hell no, he was one of the best popes and maybe the most humble one, even though i didn't agree with him on several issues...

A public figure that was loved by the world that claimed Christianity but never mentioned or spoke anything out of the Bible, participated in symbolism and rituals or practices than the true roots of Christianity, seemed more like a puppet than a prophet to me.
