Why do guys think it is sooo freakin' funny due to flatulence?

Guys will pass gas and think it is just sooo funny. They will laugh and laugh and then laugh some more. I don't get it. We women don't see anything funny and it would be extremely embarrassing if we did this in public. We excuse ourselves. So, why do guys think this is so funny when it is not?

I've seen women laugh at their own farts.
As for guys, the sound is funny, the type of fart it is can be funny, picturing what your asshole might've looked like when it farted is funny, the smell can be funny and the impending jokes about the sound and the smell can be quite funny.
Lighten up, McGraw. It's not like you'll ever hear or smell that particular fart ever again. Just have a laugh. What's so terrible about laughing?
Suppressing farts can actually be harmful to you! Just let fly and have a good laugh!

Some say it’s better to burp & taste it rather than fart & waste it but on the other hand you should never hold a good fart back it’s unhealthy. As for farting it’s funny & as for laughter it’s the best medicine as they say.

I dont think its remotely funny , I think this behavior is completely stupid , I have never found it funny , I think its disgusting and shows a particular attitude. Males who do that are not my kind of people , I describe those actions as " lowest of the low " ..

It's because it IS funny. That the natural bodily function that elicits such a reaction from others either through the social conditioning (such as you mentioned @debbiedenise ) or the smell which is potentially disgusting and the reaction to that is even more amusing.

I mean it’s not SO funny , and not all guys will laugh hysterically or uncontrollably about it but farts ARE FUNNY , and everybody farts and it’s completely natural so why not just choose to laugh about it , farts will never cease to be funny. !! 😄

I don't think it's funny. I used to work in a small office next to a secretary. I let go of a really big one and she got angry and told me to use the bathroom. It was an embarrassing mental image of her telling me when/where I should go and I was mortified.

First off, not every guy. I see nothing funny about farting. It's gross! Yes we all do it but that doesn't mean it needs to be celebrated. Secondly this is NOT unique to guys. I remember Cameron Diaz and Eva Mendes in a interview talking about how the roomed together once and they had a belching and farting contest.

I am a guy and I don't know the answer to this question. Maybe it is because it smells bad. Or maybe we were taught growing up that it is funny. I really don't have a clue.

it's not a "guys" thing. it's an upbringing thing. if you grew up in a family where everyone laughed about farts, you'd likely find it funny too. same vice versa.
