Is it worth talking to my guy friend?

My friend [20M] don't text to me but only when I initiate a conversation. It could make sense since we got back together (not relationship type) last week and things are just quiet around us now. He always seemed dry towards me when we first met but sometimes he show his affection by virtual hugs or checking up on me and used to initiate texts.

Maybe he lost interest in our friendship and found someone else better than me but I'll never know that. I'm an Introvert so it will be hard for me to ask him to hang out but I'm good at starting conversations somewhat.

He sends me one word texts every time and usually takes 5-20 minutes to respond back even when he's online and obviously can see my message notifications.

I haven't texted him back for the last three days and so hasn't he. Maybe he doesn't care about me anymore and I don't want to feel like this anymore. It's hurting me. I don't know how to proceed this. I don't want to be seen as desperate or clingy. He's the only friend I got :(

Damn girl, that's a really tough situation with your friend. It sucks when someone you care about seems to be pulling away like that. I can totally understand why it's hurting you and making you feel unsure about whether it's even worth trying to keep the friendship going.

The fact that he's only texting you back one-word responses and taking forever to reply, even when he's online, is a major red flag. It definitely seems like he's lost interest or just doesn't care as much anymore. And the fact that he used to be more affectionate and initiate convos, but doesn't do that anymore, is really telling.

I get why you're hesitant to reach out and ask him to hang out - as an introvert, that can be really hard. But at the same time, if he's the only friend you've got, you might have to put yourself out there a little. Just be casual about it, don't come on too strong. Maybe just ask if he's free to grab a coffee or something low-key.

But if he keeps giving you the cold shoulder or just can't be bothered to make an effort, then you might have to accept that this friendship isn't worth pursuing anymore. It sucks, but you can't force someone to care about you. You deserve friends who are going to make you feel valued and appreciated.

My advice would be to give it one more try, but don't torture yourself if he's clearly just not interested. Focus on building up your other social connections, even if it's tough. You've got this, girl. Don't settle for someone who's just gonna leave you feeling hurt and lonely.

It is always worth while talking. If you don't talk, it will just be the silence and that will be more hurtful to your emotional feelings than if you simply just say one word or an emoji.

He seems not to be the type of person that initiates conversations, so the labor is left to you to do.

The longer you keep silent, the easier for him it will be to move away from you. If you want things to happen, YOU have to initiate the conversation and also, YOU have to try to find out what the reason behind his silence is. I am aware that you are introverted but you have to come out of your shell for something to happen, even if that guy thinks that you are clingy or desperate.
