It's not illegal and it's not frowned upon by society, so a lot of Americans drink alcoholic beverages.

There are liquor stores and bars everywhere. Stores sell alcohol and so do nightclubs, so a lot of people obviously drink.

Some people like to get drunk and party. I got over that phase when I passed my 20s. I tend to get sick and have hangovers when I get too drunk. It's no fun.
But getting a buzz can be enjoyable on occasion. It can certainly loosen you up for karaoke. LOL. I get happy and love everybody and everything when I'm buzzed.

I don't drink often but I enjoy the occasional alcoholic beverage. Most often, it's a good quality red wine with a meal. With all the varietals and high quality wines from around the world, wine can be incredible sip and savor.
But there are so many other tasty alcoholic beverages that can be a treat.
I'm not much into beer, but that's probably the beverage of choice for a lot of guys. I do enjoy the occasional stout or porter and sometimes a Modelo Negra with Mexican food,, or Asian beer with Asian food.
I like cocktails with rum, gin or tequila. I don't like whiskey flavors and don't care for champagne.
I will have an occasional brandy. Certain white wines can be refreshing when they are chilled.
Some liqueurs are really good. Mead is delicious. So are port and various dessert wines.

Enjoying the complex flavors of alcoholic beverages shows a certain level of sophistication as long as you don't get stupid or sloppy drunk.

Yes, dear friend, grown American men do drink adult beverages, and when they do, we prefer to raise a glass of good old-fashioned, All-American beer like Budweiser Made In USA Budweiser has been quenching the thirst of hardworking patriots for generations. 🍾 🏈 💪 🌍

But then again, the woke mob tends to underestimate the strength and virility of us American men. Some - not all - American men and women drink alcohol. Most control their intake and drink responsibly, but some drink to excess, drive while intoxicated, kill people through their drunk and careless driving, lose their jobs destroy families, and. . . all the other things that drunks do, just like in Europe.

Yes, though not as much as most Northern Europeans do. For us alcohol is at least supposed to be about having fun with friends or family, not getting wasted. The Spanish tourist protests were primarily about British tourists I believe. Say what you want about loud American tourists you won't catch Americans passing out naked on the street from too much drink unless we are homeless.
